Bio: Melissa is the girlfriend of Nick's roommate Hudson. She is described to be upbeat and outgoing whenever she goes out in public. She and Hudson served in the army and fought so many enemies until she accidentally stepped on a landmine which resulted in the amputation of her leg. As a result of the surgery, she and Hudson were both honorably discharged from the army and both were received Purple Hearts for their bravery and their fight for freedom.

Returning to civilian life proved difficult for both her and Hudson. She had to go through extensive rehabilitation and was fitted for an artificial leg. Although she uses the limb for walking, she - for the most part of her life post-surgery - gets around on crutches. If she feels pain and aches on her amputated leg, her boyfriend Hudson would massage it to make her feel better. Like Hudson, she is a political and social conservative.
