Badfinger frontman Pete Ham killed himself 40 years ago this year three days before his 28th birthday on April 24, 1975. The 40th anniversary was last month, but I was too busy with other things. However, I'm putting this up after finding out the date of his tragic suicide after Badfinger - who were one of the first power pop bands - fell on hard times after four big hits during the late 60's/early 70's with songs like "Come And Get It" and "No Matter What". They were known to be the next "Beatles" but never happened due to bad management leading to Ham's suicide in '75.
