It was ten years ago, in cartoon history, today on July 19th 2002: the show Whatever Happened to Robot Jones first came on the air on Cartoon Network. What I remember about the show was that it had a lot of 1980's references throughout the entire series, especially the animation style.
MY SUMMARY: SUMMED UP IN A FEW SHORT PARAGRAPHS: The show, which was created by Greg Miller, tells the main story of a little robot boy named Robot Jones who lived with his parental units and finds himself at Polyneux Middle School. During his time, he met three friends: Socks (Robot's BFF), Mitch (wears headphones), and Cubey (a kid who wears window-shade glasses and plays video games). Robot even developed a crush on a girl named Shannon, who was known for her headgear and an artificial leg. The Yogman Twins, however, are Robot's enemies. Throughout most of the series, Robot collects data on certain topics we all know about on a regular basis and usually concludes with a "Data Log Entry".
The pilot episode debuted in 2000, but the series debuted two years later. In a span of only a year and a half since it aired a decade ago, the show produced only 13 episodes, (2 episodes making them 27 overall) due to the fact that Robot's voice was changed, and lack of support from the network, mainly due to scathing reviews from fans at the time. In November 2003, as a result of the issues above, the show got the axe after being unable to secure a third season. February 2004 was the last time the show aired on a regular basis, although subsequent years up to 2010, showed CN airing the episodes sporadically since. In fact, many of us can find the episodes circulating all across the internet in the eight years since the show went off the air.
Looking back ten years later, many of us fans have missed the show for its style, and to a lesser-extent, the humor. Some of us on here have created fan drawings of the characters from the show while others have recordings of the show on VHS tapes.
Robot Jones, we fans salute you!

I'm Leaving DeviantART
I had an epiphany earlier this year and realized that social media, since the pandemic, has gotten worse. Meanwhile, DA's Eclipse, launched in 2020, ruined the experience; my views and faves tanked. The site's new "Mature Content" bot system, launched last November, sealed my fate as a user. I've also shut down my Instagram, Newgrounds, and Twitter accounts. After over 11 years on here, my time on DA is over. I had no idea this would happen, but it did. I'm not deactivating my account nor having my work in storage; I chose to keep them up for all to see as an archive as long as DA continues to exist; I now have new responsibilities in life. My final submission to DA is this Sunday. It's been a good run. I've met a lot of users over the years, worked on art trades/requests, and, in the last few years, participated in collaborations. When I first joined Deviantart in late 2011 as a 21-year-old, it was the first home for my series Syd's World beginning in 2012. During the next seven
New Look For Syd's World (Part Four)
This is the final part of the cast of Syd's World. The Hammond family, created in 2020, are joined by five new families I created this year. One of them is the O'Neills (Layla is Marie's older sister), and they're related to the Gallaghers. Sr. Nora is Bruce's younger sister. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
New Look For Syd's World (Part Three)
This is the third part of the cast of Syd's World. More changes to the outfits and hairstyles were needed and a number of new characters were added. Geoff and Amy's hair color are changed as well. The final part will be out next Saturday.
New Look For Syd's World (Part Two)
This is the second part of the Syd's World cast. Some of the characters shown here looked like crap when I drew them back in 2020; here, I've given them a huge facelift. The third part will be out next Saturday.

Robot's voice should of never changed. Maybe the show would of had more episodes because of that. At least he's continued on in fan art and writing.
